1.If you could make one rule that everyone in the world had to follow, what would it be?
I would not change my name. Katelyn is who I am. My mother game me this name for a special reason, it means pure beauty. I know my purpose in life, to be a good role model for others to see, not just in words, but in action. True beauty is shown through the way you treat others.
2.If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
My favorite day is Monday. While Mondays are often a struggle for some people. I have something to look forward to get my week off to a glorious start….Younglife. Younglife is a Christian youth group that is in high schools across our county. This group brings high school students together through fellowship. I enjoy spending time with friends and we all go to our favorite restaurant, Cookout!
3.When do you feel a child or teen becomes an adult?
My favorite movie without doubt, is Ella Enchanted. Ella was given the gift of obedience from a fairy at birth. No matter how cruel an action might seem, she cannot refuse anything. Once Ella realizes her gift was actually a curse, she embarks on a journey in which she never gives up. Ella learns a valuable lesson on her journey. She realizes what matters to her…love. Love empowers people to achieve the impossible.
4.What do you feel you have learned in life that will be the most useful?
Hands down soccer! I have always had a very competitive and outgoing personality. Through both soccer and pageantry, I can express that part of me. When I walk onto a stage I feel like I’m going onto the soccer field. Soccer is a team sport that helps build relationships. Through this sport I have become confident and assertive. Soccer has not only taught me to discover myself, but also appreciate the people who surround me.
